We drove to New Mexico today for Kelly's family reunion. We had to leave a little later than we wanted so we could drop Nala off at the kennel hotel she was going to be staying at. She really didn't care that we left her in fact she remembered the place from our cruise. She was so happy to see all the other dogs and the owner loves her.
We left our house at 8 am and made it all the way to Moab by noon. We stopped and ate at Milt's Diner. It's like Burger Bar but, not exactly. Kelly knows all the good places in Moab from working down there for a few weeks with Questar. (I guess thats a perk, although Moab is quite far.)
Once we got back on the road we took a different way than most people in his family take to get down there. It was through the Indian reservation which to be quite honest is very interesting to see just for the fact it makes you grateful for having a laundry room in your own house.
With this pregnancy of mine we stopped at a gas station on the reservation so I could potty. (I will admit, by the time we got to our Bed & Breakfast I was sick of public restrooms and nasty doorknobs.) We really didn't fit in with the rest of the crowd; A- being white people B- driving a Mercedes.
Everything seemed to go well & we drove through a couple rainstorms, spotted some rainbows.
The last two hours of the drive seemed to go on forever. I was annoying Kelly by saying "Only 100 miles left" ... the last 200ish miles consist of winding down a canyon that the max speed at night is probably 30 mph. It's the worst part of the drive.
After a little over 12 hours and 700ish miles we made it to Duncan, Arizona. It was so nice to walk into the Bed & Breakfast. We watched an episode of Parks & Rec.. which made us both fall asleep.
