Saturdays.

Well I got quite a bit done today between laundry, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing down bathrooms & changing out decor it feels good to have a clean home again. Sometimes I really despise doing it though. Probably because I let it get so behind and I would rather spend the day holding Charli or being with my mom and sister.

Charli has been a sweet little girl she has been in her swing for most of the day either talking & playing or sleeping. After she finished eating lunch I decided it was probably time for me to eat as well as I started eating I decided I really should try out the Jamberry nail wraps I got a couple weeks ago. I have been unsure about the whole thing mainly because its something new, was it going to be a fast application, would I really like the final results and a million other things.

I watched the tutorial from Jamberry as I started to put them on and I thought it wasn't really that bad until I had to get my left hand to put on my right hand.. eek. I am not ambidextrous at all. Well I loved the final results. It took be about an hour from start to finish. I had to replace my right pinky because I don't think I should have got up and washed my face right after. So far I love the fun patterns. I love that I don't have to worry about bumping them and ruining my whole hand. It was a simple process and I am sure over time I will get better at becoming faster with them. I think I will continue doing these if I can get it down to a science. I like to have things done quickly.. I also really hope that they will last for the 2 weeks.

Kelly has been gone most the day snowmobiling and so leaving Charli & me at home. Which sometimes I hate but this season there hasn't been much snow so I can't be too mad when he goes all day.

I realized that I am starting to have this fetish with chandeliers. I found one today online that I am hoping to pick up later tonight. I can't wait to start on this next project. It is one that we have wanted to do for a long time and it is one that will take A LOT of time to do but I am so ready to do it. Okay, but I really have to have Kelly's help with it so I have to wait till I can convince him it's time to start it. After all he is the worker bee and I am the queen bee & designer!

Once I found this one I got up and did this happy dance for about 3 minutes. Charli was staring at me like 'okay mom you can stop doing that any minute now'.  She will become a pro at that face by the time she is 15 I am sure. But she also will have a pretty cool house so she can't really complain.

I have to laugh at myself for coming up with all these ideas because I was never like this 3 years ago. But I love turning something that is okay into something even better.

Here's to Saturdays & future projects.

Marquee Love by Heidi Swapp

Okay, I have fell in love with the most simple craft project. I didn't time myself but I would say that it was under 15 minutes! Which makes making a marquee so simple, fast and the possibilities are endless!

I first heard about this on Studio 5. After I watched the segment I headed to Michaels and bought two of them! One for Charli's room & the other for our family room. Seriously you will find a reason to have these in your house.

Here is what the box looks like. It was right by the front doors when I walked in. It has such cute packaging!

It comes with a stencil, your plastic bulbs, a strand of lights connected to a battery pack.

I used scrapbook paper for both of my letters. Use your stencil and trace the entire letter and the holes.

Cut the letter out and fit it into the letter. Trim edges if needed.

Now find your holes and using the end of a pen stab inside the holes.
Don't worry the light bulbs will easily fit in with this method

You can see all the holes are punched

Now inserting your bulbs. It is pretty simple to do, some will take a little more pressure to snap in. Make sure that they are down in all the way.

Turn it over after you have all the bulbs in and time to thread the lights.
Start with the first light and work your way down to the battery pack.
The battery pack is made so it can easily slide into the back of the letter and be hidden. That is why you want to start with the first light.

Throw in 2 AAA batteries and turn it over.

TA-DA. You are welcome! Cutest Marquee light. Seriously if I haven't convinced you of needing one of these then you are a prude! :)

Here is the C in Little Miss Nelson's Room.

It puts off a great amount of light but not too much. I will be using it as a night light for her room.
