7 Months Old!

Where has the time gone?!

I say it every month don't I?

Charli is getting a good sense of who mom and dad is. She definitely had stranger danger with her doctors appointment yesterday. But it was nice to know she knows and watches where her parents are at.

The shots on the other hand aren't always fun. Luckily its nothing that Tylenol can't help with. Really I can't believe that the first time we did shots that I never gave her any till later that night. (Bad Parents). I didn't know I could give her any.. you live and learn right?

She was completely fine and took a long nap after she got those terrible shots. It didn't really seem to phase her.

Charli has an adorable bedroom right, also with that an adorable crib. But the one thing that doesn't happen is her sleeping in her own room. Our doctor gave us a nudge to do it now before she is any older. I told her why I was concerns with why I have put it off.

She can roll from her back to her stomach but doesn't know how to roll to get on her back. So that scares me with letting her sleep in a different room. The other thing is that she is a sound sleeper I haven't been up with her in the night since she was about 2 months old so I feel like something could happen and I wouldn't be aware of it.

We bought a great video monitor and I use it during nap time. In fact some nap times she sleeps in her bedroom. But I can't do it at night for some reason. I just get nervous thinking she's in a different room. But I need to buck it up and do it.

As for her growing and development she is doing awesome.

Length is the smallest at 25 inches & 14 percentile (only 6 inches since birth)

Weight is pretty normal at 16 lbs & 48 percentile

Head is definitely large at 44.2 cm & 82 percentile

The doctor put it this way she is short, chubby and very top heavy.. perfect way to think about.
Hopefully she grows in to the big Malone head of hers.

Eating has been great she isn't too picky with any of her veggies or fruits. Of course she still loves her bottles.
As I said sleeping has been fine. The only hard part is nap time somedays she just would love to stay up and other days I try to rock her to sleep and because she knows I am holding her she just won't give in. But sometimes a short crying session and she will zonk out.
Sitting Up. We are starting to get the hang of this concept but the second she wiggles her head to much she will tip over. Its like a little teapot. But she did really good last night at Grandma Smiths house at sitting by herself for a good 10 minutes. Yay!!

Charli is starting to like sounds with her toys. She is all about the lights and movement. I love how interactive and intent she is. We had Nala playing a couple nights ago and she would just sit and watch her bark and was so intent with everything that she was doing.

She got a little bit of a runny nose this past week. Probably has to do with the fact that I have had a sinus infection for almost a month and I have been on antibiotics for it.

I am so grateful that I have a great baby. She will let me do an hour tap class and just sleep through it. She lets me be crazy and act like a giant baby. She makes me smile and laugh & I am glad she lets me be her mom!
Love you bugaboo!

Sun Fun

We took our boat out for the second time this year yesterday. We went out last Saturday to Willard Bay but the water got too choppy so we couldn't do much but just sit and float but it was the first time my dad had ever been on our boat, he really enjoyed it. We waited for it to calm down but it never did so we headed back home picked up Charli from Grandma Malone and then headed to Burger Bar for some much needed dinner.

It was a BLAST!

We got up early and I cleaned the house as Mr. Nelson finished up trimming the sides of the yard. We also talked about some plants we want to add and take out of our front yard. After we got Charli up and ready (she ate almost 8 oz for breakfast.. okay maybe not her jammies were soaked. But I did giver her eight oz.) We dropped Charli off at Grandma Nelson and we also went to Costco to buy a lifejacket for both of us. They didn't have any men ones but I got one! Lifejackets are fashion statements but I will say mine is pretty stinking cute.. Hot Pink and Black with leopard print! :)

The weather was a perfect temperature. The water was perfect and it was like glass. We took Tyson & Todd with us. They are a riot! I am so glad that we have the friends that we have. They are truly great guys and made the day so much fun. We started out doing some wake boarding and then decided to use the tube so we could deflate it because it is such a monster.

I went out on the tube with Kelly. Mind you it was my first time being on a tube for a couple years. Last year I was sad that I couldn't do much on the boat since being pregnant. So I have waited for this time to come. Although I am not one who likes to go fast or get whipped off. Todd did a good job of staying in a range that I totally didn't want to kill him. I am a coast along for the ride...

After we took a break from tubing we all just jumped in and swam around. Tyson was throwing crackers into the bay and the seagulls would come dive down to get them. Then Todd & Tyson had the idea to try and catch a seagull trying to get a cracker. Lets just say the seagulls are much faster but it was funny to watch them dive off the boat.

Todd tried to solemn ski and we did finally get him up and going. It looks very difficult to do. Mr. Nelson then got on the wake board. He is so natural at everything.. that kid can do it all except dance (he tries but its not the best moves).

After he was done I decided that I would try wake boarding. I have never done it before. I didn't know how to put the board on. I didn't know much of anything really. Well I had the perfect team of guys to teach me! Once I was secured we tried it. I was trying to stand up too early before the boat had even moved (go figure). But once I learned to lean back and let the boat take me then I was understanding a little more. I had to figure out which foot I would like in front and felt natural. Mr. Nelson puts his left forward which is different since he's dominantly right. I tried left and it was a no go. Once I did my right foot it was a lot easier. I almost got up by that time but I couldn't remember to get my weight on my back foot and to lean back... so therefore I drank willard bay and got a really good sinus cleanse for my Sinus Infection. Yay!

My arms got way too tired and it hurt my sides trying to do it after the 10ish times we tried. The boys kept encouraging me & giving me pointers. If they wouldn't of done that I would have given up I am sure. My goal is that next time I will be able to hopefully get up and stay up.
Have you ever had to flip your wake board back over?! The first time I went down I ended up on my stomach instead of my back so between my life jacket and the board holding me up I looked like a banana in the water. I didn't know how to flip it back over I tried to rotate my hips and knees but it killed. It felt like I would dislocate something.. Once they pulled back around in the boat Todd helped flip me back over.

After that I got how to flip over, yay me! .. Now I know why Charli has such a hard time with rolling. I can't even do it in the water!

We headed over to the beach and then Mr. Nelson let me drive the boat. Mind you boats are so hard to drive its amazing to me that men can drive, work all different types of machines. I did okay but it wasn't easy nor would you want me to pull you behind the boat.. but I hope that will get better over time.

We did some more wake boarding and then headed back in to load up and head home. It took forever waiting in the North Marina since there were so many boats launching. But we finally made it in!
We picked up Charli from Grandma Nelson and then went home to enjoy some yummy ribs, macaroni salad, peanut butter brownies and my favorite homemade salsa that Tyson makes. That kid sure knows how to cook & he taught me how to make his salsa.

Dinner was delicious and we all sat and talked about different things while spraying Vinegar all over us to take the sting out of all our sunburns. We were tuckered out! It was a great night. After feeding Charli some pears and doing bath time we were finally ready to fall asleep!

It was a great day in the Sun... I want to go out every single day! :)

Memories of May.

May 1st: Date Night
We saw The Avengers: Age of Ultron on opening day!
Charli hung out at Grandma Nelson's house.

May 2nd: Backyard Baby
We enjoyed going to watch Kelly compete at the Questar Gas Rodeo.
He took 2nd place but because there wasn't enough competitors we won't be going to Nationals again. Bummer.
Charli loved sitting in my new chairs that Kelly gave me for my birthday!

May 3rd: Sunday Funday
Hanging out with Great Grandma Smith. We love seeing all our family on Sundays.
Even though it wears out little Charli with all the playing that happens.

May 5th: Lovely Laurels
I got invited to snap some pictures of the laurels in our ward for their activity. A few of them are graduating. I can't believe that I use to teach them when they were 14 and now they are headed off to college. I love these ladies.. I always will! {bring on the wedding invites ladies.. just kidding}

May 5th: Flashback Friends.

We got together and had a pizza at my house and chatted about what we have done in the last 5 years. Can't believe that 5 years ago I was graduating high school. It was fun to chat with Summer & Morgan. We missed Kamee & Chelsea! Cheers to Silverline Reunions.

May 7th: Amazing Amazon

We bought an Excer-saucer for Charli! This was her first time sitting in it. She wasn't too sure about it at first. It will also turn in to a tummy time mat & a standing toy when she is walking!

May 13th: Floral Flops
Nothing better than chubby baby legs in shorts & chubby toes in flip flops!
Charli ready to go shopping with Grandma Malone!

May 14th:
I enjoyed a "Berry Good Doctor" from Fiiz & got the new Pitch Perfect 2 soundtrack.
I also went to the InstaCare for a UTI. Fun way to start the summer right?!

May 14th: Pitch Perfect 2
Kelly took me to Pitch Perfect 2! It was great. This was also Charli's first time in a movie theatre.
She slept in her carseat the entire time. I can't get over how funny this movie is!

May 15th & 16th: Dinner & Diapers
Kelly was gone on a guys trip to Moab this weekend! Charli & I went to Red Robin with my parents. It was a great time. We also went to Pitch Perfect both nights with a couple of my friends. Yes we saw it 3 times! Charli slept through the movie but we got home one night to a Diaper failure.
Nothing that a midnight bath can't fix. Look at that little chunk!

May 17: Sassy Six Selfie
Charli celebrated being six months old while I secretly cried that she is growing up so fast.
We took a ton of adorable pictures of this chunk & we also enjoyed peas with dad today!

May 19th: Terrific Target
I decided I didn't want to bring in her whole carseat. Since this chunk is getting so big.
Well we tried to sit her in the shopping cart. She did pretty good but I think we still have a while until she will be okay with sitting in it. But she definitely was all smiles!

May 20th: Newborn Norah

Norah Kate was born! This little girl weighs just a little bit more than Charli did at birth!
I can't believe that Charli was that little 6 months ago. So excited for that Newborn Smell.

May 22nd: Crazy Cousins
Charli sat next to Norah. This difference between them is crazy. But I can't wait for them to grow up together. It will be fun to watch these two girls be sassy together. Charli also was held by Corbin! Corbin loves singing and talking to Charli.

May 22nd: Yappy Yardwork
Charli sat and played while we worked pulling out weeds, trimming trees and deciding some plans for our front yard. I decided I can do Yardwork if I can talk to Kelly while pulling weeds. It was a relaxing Friday night.

May 25th: Sassy Swimming
Memorial Day we celebrated Marci's birthday and swam at their HOA pool. Charli wasn't so sure of the pool at first but we slowly were able to get her to be okay with her tube.

May 26th: Mustache Madness
Nothing better than drinking a Fiiz with a mustache on your straw!
A shot out to Lisa for getting me this. It literally makes me so happy!

May 28th: Funny Face
This is the face that Charli will do for almost anything now. It is quite sassy but its so funny to watch. Sometimes she will be crying and pull this face and I can't help but giggle at her. What a perfect pout.

May 29th: Super Sitter
Charli decided that sitting up is pretty cool. We definitely have to watch her as she is doing it. That Malone noggin can make her tip over quite fast.

May 30th: Macho Mornings
Charli will hold her bottle up lately.. part of me is happy I don't have to hold it all the time.
Then there is a part of me that is sad to watch her grow up.

May 31st: Stripe Sundays
I just love this little happy girl. She is a social butterfly at church. Loves to watch everyone and she is lucky that everyone will let her play with their jewelry in Relief Society.

May 31st: Bedtime Bonding
Kelly will normally always feed Charli her at night but tonight he did the entire bedtime routine. It was so fun listening to him read stories to her. I have to stay close by because once I hear the bottle drop on the floor I know that both of them are asleep.

Shut Up & Dance With Me!

Recital Weeks came and went quickly! This year we celebrated 55 years of Dance Image Way!

It was a fun time being able to watch lots of little girls show off what they learned this year. All of the costumes, music and choreography was adorable in both recitals!

Our Competition girls did awesome! I love when Recital time comes because I can just sit back and watch all the teams do the dances that we once thought would never turn out look amazing. I also feel sad watching these girls dance as well because there is always sadness that comes with knowing some will be leaving to college, drill team or cheer, other sports and millions of other things these girls are so talented with.

It also scares me when the year ends because that means the new ideas have to start coming for next year. But this year for some reason I just wanted to hold on to all these girls for another 2 years! I am so glad that I can be apart of something that lets me share my passion for dance! But there is something I love more than just teaching, counting and begging for facials.. I love seeing these girls grow up. I love seeing them become strong, confident girls. That to me is worth more than any award, smile or perfect leaps.

After Recital Selfie!

It wouldn't be cool unless we had videos of us being goofs.
We normally do Memory Monday during the year where girls can wear there old costumes to class.
This year we totally spaced doing it so they could wear it to Rehearsal. Well Alexa & me jumped in on the fun and wore our senior year solo costumes. Did we have to jump up and down just to put them on? Yes!

At the end of the Senior Recitals each girl on stage had a confetti canon. Of course that was a lot of on the stage so the only reasonable thing to do is to make confetti angels.

That video was taken exactly a week before Charli was born!

Just a little warm up for Alumni class.

A little Pitch Perfect..

Flashback Friday

Cheers to this year and the wonderful routines, girls and staff at Dance Image!
60 years here we come..
