D.I. & Donkey's

What an odd post. It was a good week. I got an idea for Charli while I was reading to her that I needed to get more books for her. Well a trip to the DI the next day and I came home with 20+ books and 5 games for thirty bucks! Woot Woot.

I was happy at the selections they had of books. Tons of good Disney books and classics that I loved as a kid. Especially some Eric Carle ones!

We went over to the game section and they had Heads Up! I have wanted this game for awhile but its like $15. Well for $2 I was wondering if it even had everything. I opened up the game.. The cards hadn't even been opened.. I did a happy dance and my mom stared at me wondering why I was dancing.

Meet the newest pet/ yard ornament to the Malone family. My dad finally got a donkey. I think he has been talking about donkeys for the last 2 years. One of their neighbors had one that they were using for their horses. Well of course my dad told them he wanted it after. Well and there you have it the newest pet. There have been many names proposed.
Carrots, Hee-Haw, White, Horsey, Dumbledore, Christopher, Eeyore, Boo-Boo Chicken, Corbin.
Those were all from grandkids and my sisters.
We later found out that the donkey is a girl.
My dad finally named her LuLu.
When he first was talking about a donkey he said he would probably name it dumb, smart, stupid, lame, jack or bad. Well... having grandkids out ruled any of the funny names for this poor donkey. But she will probably be more respected now.

I guess the first night that my parents got her Rufus wasn't very sure about her & she made it known that Rufus wasn't going to get to close. At one point Rufus had her backed into a corner and wouldn't let her go anywhere else. Then Rufus got too close and she started kicking her back legs at him.

She is pretty timid and isn't the type to come up to the fence yet but she will be fun for the grandkids to ride. Plus she will be a great friend for Rufus to have. Also I am secretly excited for this summer when my dad brings them over to eat our pasture. :)

By the way can you believe its the middle of February and we have no snow on the ground and the temperatures have been in the 50's and 60's!! I secretly have enjoyed it not being a cold winter because of having Charli but I am starting to realize that it means we will have a drought this summer.

My dad got some one on one time with LuLu. He gave her shots and finally got her on a halter to walk her around. He snapped this selfie & I had no other choice but to post it on all social media sights. I think he is going to get a selfie stick for his birthday because its sad that LuLu's head is cropped out of the picture! :)
