I think that was the biggest thing that made us okay with the change in position & money is we knew if he got the job things would work out for the best! After knowing what could take place, Kelly received a couple emails about his application, he had forgot to check that he had a current drivers license. Which at that point it had been almost 3 weeks since he interviewed. I instantly thought, they wouldn't have him go back and check that he did if they weren't seriously considering him.. then we waited some more & heard they had to get it approved from the Vice President of the company & still had to meet with the people who interviewed to decide..
In all reality every day felt a little worse for not knowing, we had started talking about looking at other companies & jobs. I think Kelly got annoyed by me calling him at work and always asking if he had heard anything.
Although on Tuesday July 23, 2013 he found out about 15 minutes before work was out he found out..........HE GOT THE JOB IN OGDEN! As he called me Tuesday on his way home like he typically does, I didn't even think to ask him if anything was said. All I remember him saying when I answered was "Hello Pretty Girl, Guess what?" I replied, "What up?" ... He then shouted "Ogden called and... We're going to OGDEN!" .. I instantly stood up and started screaming and jumping! It was such good news to here & dreams were coming true!
I honestly think I have been a little more excited about the whole thing for several reasons because I knew that he would be close to home. He wouldn't have weird shifts anymore, he wouldn't have so much drive time everyday & we could go to Salt Lake without him hating it as bad, and there would be less meters he would point out to me that he's worked on! I think I instantly started dreaming of having him closer when we decide to have our own children, but also knowing that if I ran into a problem with my car or even just going to lunch with him on a Friday. Or just the joy of driving by Questar trucks by our house & having it be a possibility of it being him!
Its funny how life changes when its suppose to, Kelly interviewed a few months for Ogden before we were married & didn't get the job. I guess we were suppose to stay in Salt Lake for that time, maybe it was to teach me to not be as clingy. Now, Heavenly Father is totally blessing us with something that means a lot more than the fact that we will have a few more sacrifices, although for some reason neither of us are very scared for the pay cut, I think that is because we kind of felt that if we paid our tithing & lived as best as we could, that things ALWAYS work out! We are so BLESSED! I am so grateful that we have a different view of life & that we can stay positive about things.
I keep dreaming that with all the time he will save driving home every day will make the kitchen change faster, light fixtures will change & maybe some more paint on some walls... but, the best thing will be having him home more! I think he will create great friends & have better opportunity's in the long run.
\I still have my job at Sunset Elementary & Dance Image.Which I should maybe get a few more hours at the school this next year & a few hours at the studio! Kelly has done amazing at Skid Steer work this summer & I am sure it will continue to happen! Plus, with Ogden he will be "on call" every 6 weeks & he will have some more time to go work in Moab! Also, from the sound of it they told Kelly there won't be much of any wait period to get him back to a Rep. 3!
He should be starting around August 15th! ...The countdown begins.
This picture of me was taken Summer 2011 after I had first met Kelly. Some of my friends and me were riding in his car to go dumpster diving in Layton, I don't remember what we were wanting. I was in the back & there was this hat. I put it on & someone took my picture. I never thought then that I would know care as much as I do about Kelly's job & let alone OUR life. YAY Questar.
This picture of Kelly was taken before we were married I believe. I think he was just getting home from work! Lets be honest who wouldn't like this cute boy working on their meter & appliances. He definitely makes the uniform look pretty good considering he is in jeans and a Questar tshirt 95% of the time! I Love him!
