School Back in Session, A Time Capsule & Labor Day 2013

So, school is officially back in & that means I am back to work! Its crazy how fast summer flew by! I loved waking up around 10am and being in sweats instead of now waking up and getting ready for work! I do like having something to do during the day but, I am sure that I will start to get sick of never being home this year!

We have more kids in Resource this year and have a few others that I am sure will be tested in soon! The new kids are adorable and fun to be around! I even was happy to see some of the kids from last year! Although, I know its just the "honeymoon stage" we use that term quite often, especially with the new kids we know that have had behavior issues. The honeymoon stage gives a few weeks until we will see the real them! It will be a interesting year, one thing I do like about resource every day is a new day and new things happen all the time!

These are pictures from our classroom this year! Its a Dr.Seuss Theme!

Dance has also started up, its going to be a busy season! Oh wait when isn't it? We are doing a "Boys of Broadway" theme for our production/novelty dance. I think the girls are excited about it and so am I. Alexa, Lisa and me have come up with some cool ideas for it, its just teaching it and putting it all together! This year I will have more hours at the studio which I am excited to do! I didn't get to be with our oldest girls last year and this year I will be! I don't know if I will teach them much but, it will be fun to watch them! I really do love teaching dance, at first it was a big transition to get use to. But, now I think I have got it down. I hope that I will be able to be prepared and have new ideas flow throughout the year!

Kelly is enjoying his job at Questar! In fact, even better news to announce he worked for one week and by the second week they bumped him up to his first promotion! So we are back to being a Senior Utility worker! Yay! He likes his new boss a lot and I think his boss has made him work really hard to prove just to see how hard Kelly will work! Which, it didn't take him long to know that he constantly works! Kelly has been in Vernal this week doing some work there. I think he likes doing all the little trips but I do miss not seeing him everyday and having to run the house by myself!

Nala has finally got her second rabies shot and a bordetella shot for when we leave to Disneyland next month. My mom was so nice and took her in to get her shots done. I guess some clerks thought she was a puppy still, which isn't too shocking because she's nothing close to what a Boxer normally is being almost 2 years old. She yelped at the rabies shot, my mom felt bad for her which I am sure I would of as well. They tried giving her the second shot in oral form, I guess she pulled a funny face and spit most of it out. The vet said out of all the times he's given that shot he had never seen such a funny face! I wish I would of been there! Since my mom had Stuart and Nala there neither of them took any treats from the vet which makes me laugh because Nala has the same treats at home!
I do love Nala, she is a lot of work and time. Especially when we are leaving for a weekend and need someone to watch her. I am thankful for Kelly's parents who have watched her multiple times along with Kelly's brothers who have as well!

For Labor Day weekend we went to the cabin. It was the first time we didn't work!!! Yay. Okay, I mean Kelly & my dad didn't work! I enjoyed being around Marci and her kids, they make me happy & are just to dang cute! On Sunday we went to the Mountain Man Rendezvous with our friends Steve & Janae Moss, Dan & Carli Weller and Janae's sister. It was definitely a man thing, at first it was really cool to see all the tents set up for things mountain men would of used but after seeing about 85 tents and they were all close to the same thing! There was some guys walking around in loin cloths.. with their bums completely naked and they weren't young kids whatsoever. I kept thinking I would run into some relatives since every time I have been around my dad's family they remind me of mountain men. We took Nala to the Rendezvous as well, I am shocked at how well she did considering she's not on a leash much. Tons of people came up to pet her and ask about how old she is, they were shocked when I said she was almost 2. Lets just say she isn't anything close to normal boxer's. Which I love that she is smaller, its nice for the fact she sleeps with us and can stay in the house because of her midget-ness. :)

I love taking naps at the cabin, I know Kelly thinks its annoying but I swear you sleep better in the mountains! Plus you eat so much I don't know how he likes to go hiking, fishing and fourwheeling. He is a funny adventurous guy for sure! I am glad he is patient with me when I am cranky and not happy!

For young woman's this week the girls made "time capsules". It was so fun to see what they put in their cans. They had what colors they want their wedding to be, what their dress will be like, pictures they want with their husbands also things for their kids like future room colors to names. Letters to their future husband and to themselves. Our Young Woman's President made them handkerchief for the temple that they also put in their can. We also had a lady make a vinyl cut out of the Salt Lake Temple to put on the outside. It was fun to see the girls dream of their own futures and be so happy and carefree!
Although, throughout the night I couldn't help but think that I had made one of these "time capsules" when I was in YW's. I decided I would look through some stuff when I got home just to see. I have a couple boxes full of childhood clothes and blankets. I pulled a few things out of the box and saw a can that said: "Don't open until wedding day!" "Made on October 24 2007" ...I started to laugh and be giddy that I had one! I would of been a Miamaid (coincidence that I am an advisor now?!) so 16 years old. Kelly would of been home from his mission for a year...(quite the age difference right?!) Since Kelly is gone to Vernal, I called him and told him what I had found. He told me to open it and tell him what was in it. I was shocked at the things I wrote to myself and that I had my first tap shoe and a jazz dance shoe in the can with pictures of me and the miamaids in my class. The coolest thing about the time capsule was the note that my mom wrote to me and the one I wrote for my future husband. Kelly wanted me to read the letter I wrote to him on the phone but I knew I couldn't make it through it without crying. But I can promise you everything I wrote to him is completely true, he is everything I dreamed of at 16 years old! (creepy I know!)

It was fun to reminisce back to when I was a Miamaid myself and how my mentality was and the love I had for my family, friends and dance. After opening my own I got even more excited for when my young woman will open their own time capsules! I wish I would of remembered I had mine when we got married but being almost a year & a half late isn't too bad right?!

Fall is on it's way and I can't be more excited to wear sweaters and to be cold instead of dripping in sweat mostly all the time. This summer has been the hottest ever, its broke every record. I would just love for it to be in the 70's everyday instead of high 90's!

Come on fall!!
