Summer Vacations!

Welp, I at least feel a little bit better about how I have been a slacker on posting because we have been pretty busy throughout June & July!

Some of the things we have done this summer: Bear Lake with Kelly's Family, Fourth Of July parade & Demolition Derby with The Weller's, Drive in movie, Projects around the house, Yard work, BBQ's with family, Kelsey being here for the month of June, CT scans for Kelly, Dance recitals & auditions for the 2013-2014 team, Youth Conference, Organizing & Cleaning out rooms, Kelly's applied for a job in Ogden (Questar), I spent time with some friends from college as well! ...busy summer!

Now that you read the paragraph above you can either quit reading or let me babble on about it...

Kelly's family has always had a tradition of going to Bear Lake, his brother in law Chris grew up in Laketown & his parents have a lakehouse their with a private beach! We went last year and weren't sure if we would be able to go again because they were going to sale the house but we were in luck and they still have it! We spent a weekend up there with some of his family, we hiked to Bloomington Lake on Friday & got shakes, once we finally made it to the house it was starting to rain so we couldn't go out and play. Plus we were beat! Saturday we spent the whole day at the lake, I was smarter this year and wore sunscreen! I hardly got burnt although I was hoping to still get some color it didn't happen. We went out on the sailboat that Andrew has.. only bad thing is you need wind we were stranded for a good hour in the middle of the lake because the wind instantly stopped! Although it was still fun and calming. I love having such a good second family, they are so fun to be around and are very welcoming! I absolutely love our niece's and nephews, sometimes they will never leave me because I guess I am the "cool aunt" and other times they just will play with themselves.

Kelly had some time off for the 4th of July we hung out with our friends Dan & Carli, I love these two. I wonder why we have such great families and then how we can have even better friends! We went to the Kaysville parade & to the Hot Rockin' Fourth Demolition Derby. Let me just say, I am not a fan of  watching parades its insane to me that kids & adults fight for a piece of Salt Water Taffy or a Frisbee. I guess I haven't had to experience watching a normal city parade because I grew up in Hooper where you knew everyone & well its like a 15 minute parade max. plus I am use to always being in the parade. We didn't do any parades for the Studio this year, it was kind of nice but I do enjoy being with my dance girls.
The derby was fun but it was HOT!!! I am not a fan of the crashing cars at least to the point when someone gets carried out on a stretcher, I kept telling Kelly we can go to these but he's not doing one, luckily he got it out of his system before we were married, he swears he didn't like being in it, so he can be part of a
pit crew! While we were at the parade I ran into Markell Anderson, my roommate from Snow! Wow, I have missed her! She was with her family sitting close to us, I kept seeing her dad but wasn't sure if it was them, it didn't seem like an event they would go to, I was wrong they have gone every year and they bet on the cars. I talked with her for a good portion of the night! It was Kelly's second time being around her which was odd because I feel like they know each other pretty dang good!

Is it bad but I cringe at these two words YARD WORK. I don't know why but I am not a fan of it, maybe because of my dad and his way of always making me help and mow his yard! I sometimes make Kelly bribe me so I will mow the lawn or help with weeds. Our house is already landscaped quite well thanks to the people who lived here before that had a landscape business, I have always wanted to change some plants and add some others but I realize that won't happen until I become an avid lover of working out there. Kelly has fixed multiple sprinkler valves and does a big portion of making everything stay nice! Thank goodness! We also bought new patio chairs from Target that I kind of was whining for, we got a Pink, blue, orange & Green one! Now we are going to spray paint the table we have to make it look even cuter and to match the umbrella Kelly bought me last summer!

Since its summer and I only have dance a few mornings & no school Kelly has been nice and started some projects inside the house...he says I have a list of things... well what girl doesn't? He has a list of stuff he wants outside! But we have almost finished our railing & banister he sanded it a while ago but we finally have got around to painting it grey & white. Its taken some getting used to and some serious time between the prep work to the coats of paint and then the clear coat! It makes our walls look grey and it makes me happy to have it look more modern than the oak look! Krystal (Kelly's sister) is a thrifty person and almost every other sunday we have to stop at her house so I can see the projects she is working on, she sprayed paint some lights for her kitchen in bright blue! I loved them & so it made me want to spray paint our light in our entry way, Kelly finally had the time to take it down and paint it for me.. it is now RED! Crazy how much a light thats bronze and ugly before can look so different after a 3 dollar can of spray paint and well I had to get new light covers as well but I love it! I now have been on a kick of painting my bathroom in the hallway, at one point I wanted mint or coral and now its red; I don't know if it will ever happen but I can cross my fingers right? I also have wanted to paint the wall behind the TV in the family room and of course one day we will tear into the kitchen... I dream about granite counter tops and bead board... what is wrong with me?

We have been married almost 15 months and is it bad that I am finally organizing a couple of the rooms, I will admit it is horrible but I have been in a big mood of throwing everything I haven't touched in 6 months away, I have successfully made the craft room not look like an atomic glitter bomb anymore & I finally bought some hangers so I could get my hoodies out of a storage box & I finally moved some of my childhood things down to the basement! Kelly has been shocked I think that I have gone through so many things this summer & I can tell because he doesn't shut the doors as much to the two rooms! I like having it organized I hope I learn how to keep it that way when I go back to work in August.

I have been busy with dance... oh wait when am I not busy with it or coming up with something to teach... yup, NEVER! But, we had the recital for my competition teams and well us Alumni girls as well.. I can be totally honest I was a little nervous its been over a year since I have performed, but once I did it I loved it! We did a lyrical, tap, jazz & hip hop. I remember being on the comp team and watching alumni and thinking that I wanted to be on it one day...its funny how those dreams come true and that I now know my left from right! haha. I was very happy at how my girls did in the lyricals that I taught them a few weeks before the recital, they did awesome... I love lyrical, when a slow song comes on the radio Kelly will look at me and ask if I want to get it for a lyrical next year! The best part of the recital was that me and Alexa did a duet to This Woman's Work by Greg Laswell, we have wanted to come up with one for over a year and never had time so about a week before the recital we met up twice and had the whole dance done, I think some of our girls were shocked that we did it in two practices & I can't lie I was shocked myself that I remembered it for the most part.

The last week of June their was a job opening in Ogden for Questar that Kelly applied for their was 6 guys that put in for it and then it dwindled down to 3 once some things were said about how it would be a pay cut for 5 of the guys! Kelly left his name in, we figured things out and believe that it will work out with how much skid steer jobs he has had, with my coaching and me going back to aide at the school in the fall! Its funny how I feel like that's a blessing because we've paid our tithing! Kelly felt way good about his interview and was pumped up about it he has interviewed for Ogden a couple of times, its hard to get there even though its the same company because Salt Lake doesn't like guys leaving; they have sure taken their sweet time at deciding what guy they want, we know they have met several times to talk about those who applied! We haven't heard anything yet but sure hoping we hear something this week!
I would love if Kelly got into Ogden, it would be a 10 minute drive from our house instead of the 2 hours he spends every day working in SLC. He would get better hours and not have weird shifts & have a lot of on call/ overtime! I would love it, and I know he would too, I think it would be the cherry on top of a long awaited ice cream cone!

In August my mom & me spent time down in Springville babysitting Marci's kids while Landon & her went to Kansas! It was a fun time but boy were we tired! We went swimming one day after Aria & Corbin had swim lessons, that wore them right out! We were happy because that meant we got a nap time as well! Although, the funny part of this vacation is neither my mom or me packed a swimsuit, so we had to go shopping for one with three kids! It wasn't necessarily cheap because we just went to Dillards but I at least walked away with a swimsuit I liked (plus, Princess Aria approved of it)! Aria definitely has some sassy attitude, she knew how to run the house while we were there! We went to Macey's to get some grocery's for Marci when they got back. I had Siri telling us where to go but Aria insisted I turn that lady off and let her give us directions! Aria got us there all by herself! As we walked into Macey's she told us we couldn't get anything until we got an ice cream cone first. But being the sly older child she told us Corbin gets the tiny one and she gets a big one.. Corbin balled once he realized Aria had a bigger one, but once I shared mine he was fine!

Kelly had a CT scan done on his neck and brain... come to find out nothing is wrong and the neurologist said he doesn't need to see him anymore unless his headaches get worse... I can't say we were happy about that appointment because we are even more lost on what to do now, especially after spending the money on all we did to get nowhere. The good news is Kelly has felt like his headaches aren't as bad & he thinks clearer..which makes me happy. He is wanting to go see his ENT to see if he thinks there is anything on the scans. I also bought Doterra Oils for headaches, Kelly didn't really want me to but I figured we might as well try what we can.. he hasn't had serious enough aches to use them on although it helped when he hurt his back picking up a sledgehammer at work, my mom has also used them on her hips to get sleep at night!

Kelsey came to visit for a weekend in August! We met Marci at Scheels and went to a Mexican restaurant plus Ikea! Man, I love that store its a good thing it isn't that close to me! Max & Graham are so cute, and that proud grandpa! It was a fun day! Plus we were all together for national sibling day!

Okay, this is dragging on longer than I thought it would... too much is coming to my brain..

I also got to do lunch with Kenzie Butler after Becky's funeral...It was fun to talk to one of my best friends.. I miss her and wish I lived closer to her!

Keli Riley also came to my house & we talked about married life and laughed and laughed and laughed at pictures she had from college, man I was a little poop! We had to much fun! She wasn't sure if she had found my house and then she pulled in and saw the Ephraim sign hanging in our garage and she said "She knew she was HOME" ... not very many people have that in their garage! :) I love her! I was so blessed to have the roommates I did & to be able to have them as great friends, if only I could relive the college memories and soak them up more than I did!

Here are some pictures throughout the summer:

...well, I think that is all I have for this novel if you read this whole thing give yourself a pat on the back! :)
