Church Callings

Last night we got a text from the Bishop asking if he could meet with us at 10 am. I thought it was odd and so did Kelly! I even asked is it tithing settlements? Kelly laughed at that one.

Kelly didn't want me to text back right away but for some reason I couldn't contain myself, I don't know why dragging it out to text back makes it seem any different to him. I know Kelly if he doesn't text back or call back immediately he probably never will. So I took the initiative to text back. I wrote "Yes, we can do that!"... then Kelly saw it and said "An exclamation point! WHY? That makes it sound like we are looking forward to it."

Well 10 am rolled around and Kelly got called in first, I was wondering what the heck was going on because he wanted both of us. I kinda freaked and wondered if they were talking about me! I mean I just wanted to be in the office already! Finally the bishop let me in & then the news broke! Kelly & I were taking bets on who would be getting a new calling, although it was hard to think on what they would be changing because just a couple months ago they changed the YW&YM so what could they possibly be changing?

Kelly was called to be the 1st counselor in the Young Mens. Kelly is kind of bummed because he enjoyed teaching the 11 year olds in Primary, but I think more so he isn't looking forward to having to sit with me in sunday school, because I will be asking for back tickles and he can't sing the Sunbeam song anymore!

I know Kelly will do a great job working in the Young Mens. I secretly have wanted him in the YM's because then we could go to things together! I got my wish! :) The nice thing is he is over the Teachers & I am the advisor for the Miamaids, so we will coordinate together for activities! hahaha... Aka, he will let me plan it all!

Kelly will be working with our neighbor Paul Weaver who is the president, I know he will enjoy it because they have a lot of interests. Also he will be working with Jake Johnson who is the Teacher Advisor. I work with Jake's wife Hailee. They have been married for 2 years I believe and we have a lot of the same interests. Jake does a lot of hunting, camping, snowmobiling, four wheeling, dirt biking, fishing... aka another Kelly. So they will have fun with the boys and I am sure they boys will love them!

Kelly gets to learn the new Youth Curriculum, which is a lot different from how the Primary books are so that will be fun because we both will have similar lessons, can we count planning our lessons as FHE? Oh wait, we count watching the Bachelorette as FHE!
