Can you believe that is already a new year?! Where has the time gone. I think I catch myself saying that every year.
I am not going to write some sappy post about all the resolutions that I am going to commit too because I don't really have anything I am wanting to start & I know that I won't end up continuing to do it..
So...
I saw these two quotes on Pinterest this last week I like them both a lot.
"The Past is your lesson. The present is your gift. The future is your motivation."
I never thought of it in that type of way. You realize eventually that when you look back a couple years how much you learn about yourself & others. Plus life in general. It's a good reminder to let go of the past but remember what it taught you.
The next part is hard. Thinking of the Present time as a gift is hard sometimes, we tend to get down on ourselves & sometimes judge ourselves against other people. Which, I think we compare ourselves sometimes without even realizing. But on the other side we should enjoy ourselves & have fun. As hard as it can be on a bad hair day, when there is issues with your car, waking up late or just flat out not being happy.
Motivation.
(ha!)
Oh I should laugh at that word but it is something I struggle with. I can be motivated to go to work & do the daily things. But there are certain things that I don't enjoy doing & that is when I laugh at that word. With the future being our motivation I think that can mean a million different things.
I feel that what we do in our future will affect our kids & their kids. It will speak volumes of us & what we leave on Earth. We should try to do better & be nicer to those around us. Especially how this world is becoming more & more okay with bullying and doing things for yourself.
In 2014, I want to remember what I have learned from the past & the memories that it created.
I want to try and be happy with the present even when it gets rough & to view it as a gift.
Last but not least, be motivated for the future to do good things so years from now I will be pleased.

"Tomorrow is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good one."
We have all probably seen that quote. But boy does it ring true. Its nice to have a new fresh start and to leave the past year behind. I can't wait for the color, stories, pictures, triumphs & trials to head my way. The pages may get torn, spilled on, and the binding of the book may get dropped, worn & look used towards the end of the year but I am excited for it all.
There is something about the unknown that can either frighten you or make you enjoy it & this year I will choose to enjoy it..
