We have now celebrated being married one full year! Some say its either the hardest or funniest! I would have to agree that it was the funniest! I absolutely had the best year being married to Kelly! Between buying our house, painting our bedroom and kitchen, celebrating the holidays of "firsts" it was really a fun time!
Although, I am wondering why we did everything in April. I can't control our birthdays but adding the anniversary to it all made for a month of crazy spending! Worse than Christmas almost ;)
Let alone we have started working around the yard! I have a hard time keeping up with things inside the house mainly because A- I am lazy B- I am a marvelous proCRAFTinator (aka rather do crafts than clean) which luckily Kelly likes what I make but he also would like clean clothes! I wish I had a laundromat in my basement just so I could have all 25 loads going since I get that behind before I do any laundry! Kelly would love me to iron all his clothes but then I would be to perfect of a wife. I am sure I will want a bigger laundromat once I have kids, but hopefully then I won't be running around from work to work!
April has been a good month for my Competition Dance teams! I am very proud that my girls don't have class as often as some teams do! But they compete very well against them! I remember always getting first place but then kids weren't doing dance every waking hour! I was very happy when one of the teams I choreographed their jazz dance, at their 2nd competition they were going against 4 other studios, I wasn't sure how we would place up to them! Especially knowing that I knew some people from the studios, suddenly at awards we took 3rd out of 5! I was ecstatic, they danced hard and they danced better than some practices! I am not being arrogant but I believe that we had the cutest costumes and dances! I loved when I competed in college and high school but I like that I can teach girls to just have a hobby and a passion! Wether or not they stick with dance or go into a different hobby, I enjoy learning from them and being able to share my passion for dance!
At our 2nd competition they did Judges Choice awards for the studios! Yes every studio gets one but shockingly we got what I would say is the best award we could of got.... Best Choreography and Charisma! Not one other studio had anything close to that! Alexa and me flipped out when they said that, because at least the judges knew we were doing hard choreography weather or not we execute it correctly they enjoyed that it wasn't as simple as the ones we went against! After Lisa asked me what we got and her jaw dropped! I think she was happy but it made it even better once every judges sheet said something about the choreography!
Okay. I am a little into the dance world but what do you expect! I am just glad that the stress of getting costumes ready and dances finished is done! Although we now will be starting tap and lyrical! I love choreographing lyrical's and I am really excited to see how they turn out!
Alumni class has been a ball! I didn't do it last year but this year it has been fun to make new friends and sit and laugh with Lisa and Alexa! We have done a jazz dance, tap dance, hip hop and now a lyrical is started! I haven't tapped in 7 years and sadly it cam back to me although I get confused with some steps it's better than none! ;)
Kelly has picked up a lot of skid steer jobs in the last week or so, which I am hoping he will keep getting them! That way during the summer I won't have to do anything hopefully but have the "magical house" which to Kelly is what his sisters have! But they are probably busier than I am for being stay at home moms! Kelly will expect dinner and clean floors I just don't know how well that will go! Although I am very excited for school to be out 28 more days! June 7th can't come fast enough!
I am very glad I have the job I do, the school is very fun and the kids are a riot, although there are some co workers who I could live without mainly because once you have worked here for 9 months you should probably know the name of the principal, the office ladies oh and the people you work with every day? To this day she still doesn't say my name right it's Maddie to her! I guess my first name changed & not my last name!
I am officially 21 I don't feel much different besides I can drink Mountain Dew legally now and my driving record has a chance of having higher points so therefore I can get pulled over more! ;) Kelly spoiled me with Texas Roadhouse for dinner and a new maxi dress! He also got me a pair of Rock Revival jeans! My mom made us a chevron blanket for our couch in the front room since its getting sun faded! I also got a new purse from my mom and a shirt! I was spoiled at work as well, with Costa Vida and some Martinells with some cute cups! My mother in law rocks, she gave me these cool roses that had some zebra print on them and they were real! :) a big thank you to her and my awesome coworkers! Marci got me a cute coral belt and earrings and one of my favorite Disney characters, Cruella De Vil! Aria loved playing with it and her sleeping beauty! I loved also having Marci and my grandparents come to party! We were eating lunch and my grandpa said "Well you're 21 and have never been kissed below the ankles" ....as you can imagine we all started laughing and even grandpa turned bright red from laughing! He has gotten older and can't hear as well but he is certainly hilarious! Even my grandma had some funny comments when I was fighting with my dad she said "someone take a picture of the 2 idiots" we all laughed at that as well! It was a great day spent with family! We even bought the green four wheeler from my
dad and we sold a four wheeler Kelly had worked on to get it running!
My dad is now 53 and he actually seems funnier than 2 years ago! He got a new 2012 F150 truck and has been telling everyone Kelly bought the truck because he married me! My dad is funny right? Okay not so much! Sadly my dad sold his truck this weekend, old pink is gone but I will always remember the mailbox dent that is on the tailgate, I will try and forget how mad my dad was at me for doing it! I will miss old pink and the rhyme we said to dad! "Some bishops wear black and blue but ours wears and drives in pink too" that was before he was a stake president now he will just blend in with his white truck!
Kelly is now 28 and the "golden child" even his cake said so, he is still handsome as ever! We are still trying to figure out his daily headaches and hopefully the process of it won't be too long! I gave Kelly a few 007 movies! Skyfall, quantum of solace and one other! He got some new clothes as well that he picked from Gordmans! :)
For our anniversary we went to a hotel in west valley that had a water slide that went outside the hotel and back in! Sadly we couldn't go down it because it was closed but it was fun! We ate at red robin and swimming at the hotel they had a lot of pools! We then went to City Creek the next day I was pretty peeved that there wasn't any maxi skirts or dresses that were semi modest! Luckily I found some later! I did however get my favorite socks at H&M! I gave Kelly a book I made from Snapfish of our engagements, bridals, wedding day and reception also some dating photos! I think he enjoyed it! It turned out well and the best part is I got it half off yet, I had to make the whole thing in 3 days for the deal at least it was over my spring break! Kelly got me a rug for under our kitchen table and we for a bed frame from Crown Bedrooms since they are going out of business! I was spoiled this month but so was Kelly!
April was a great month, it was busy but very fun! ;)
See ya next year April!
