Meet Kelly John Nelson

That Would Be Kelly John Nelson and I at the Manti LDS TemplePhoto From: Marci Preece Photography.
Background story of how we met: This last summer I was dating a kid named Brandon, it only lasted a few weeks but after it ended it was pretty harsh and rude from both sides. One friday night my friends (keri, chelsea and kenzie maughan) were dragging me to a house in West Haven to a BBQ.They promised me that no one would know brandon.. I had no intention of wanting to be there or even going. But, after a few minutes being there I was content hence I had a cheeseburger and cute guys to look at. Although I wasn't totally out of my comfort zone and didn't say much. My friends went along and flirted it up and even scored some rides on some of the boys motorcycles. After talking to some people there it became known that more people knew of Brandon than I thought. That kind of made the night a little worse but we stuck around pretty late, roasting marshmallows and talking.
After that night it sparked some amazing friendships; every night till the end of summer me and my friends spent countless times over there talking to our new friends. Mike, Richard, Weston, Kyle and of course Kelly. We met some more friends along the way. We went dumpster diving, to firework shows and anywhere that sounded fun. Kelly later in the summer got a hot tub where we spent a lot of time as a large group. :) Although, I didn't really like any of the guys my friend keri went on a couple dates with Kelly. I started to realize throughout the summer how close I was to Kelly and how much I did like him. Keri started to notice when I kept telling her to date him. She would always say "Why don't you date him?" ...I never really knew what to say.
As school was approaching fast I started realizing how much I was going to miss hanging out at their house (The Bachelor Pad). These boys were like brother figures and I could never tell why none of them were married?! I remember talking to Kelly about school and how I wanted to stay close to him and talk as much as we could. He always said "Mag's you'll be fine, you can always call or text me." I remember he hugged me the last night I was going to be there and I started crying. As I moved down to Ephraim, he started talking to me weekly or calling to see how I was; he gave me the best advice and I started to call him Dad. Our relationship was just interesting and one of a kind. General conference weekend came around and he knew I would be home; he didn't waste any time and he hurried to take me out on a date. Most first dates are awkward and not much is said but the kid knows almost every thing about me. He wouldn't really tell me what we were doing it was going to be a surprise. Next thing I knew we were in Cafe Rio eating (the kid knows me pretty dang good as I said) after eating we went over to Wiseguys comedy club. It was hilarious and it started some more jokes between our relationship. That night I shortly realized I really did like him.
We kept talking and it wasn't too much longer he was headed down to Ephraim for a visit, the lucky guy met my crazy family and some crazy friends. We went to manti and ate at Fred's Restaurant (the owner is in my bishopric). After my family left, we sat and talked and then took a nice walk around ephraim. We sat off an alarm in the library. oops.. that was just the beginning of some adventures. We ended the day with a movie and he left back home.
Kelly, is a genuine hardworking guy. He treats anyone and everyone good. He work's hard and play's hard. He loves snowmobiling, he loves his dirt bike and bullet bike. He recently started his own business with his 'skidsteer' (pretty much moving and leveling out ground for people). He loves his family. Every Sunday night you can find him visiting his grandma and parents. He is the 6th of 7 kids. All of their names start with "K". He's the only one with strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes. What I'm getting at is he's pretty much an amazing guy. As my last post said he is a mechanical engineer... wrong, he graduated from WSU in manufacturing engineering. He works at Questar in Operations.
I am very lucky to be able to have the friendship and relationship that I do have with Kelly. He has taught me a lot and continues to always be someone I can lean on. He makes me want to work harder at school and to be better in anything I do. I love Kelly Nelson.
Sorry, if the post was too mushy.. but I felt like writing about him.
